We have some exciting news to share!
The Fayetteville Wheelmen are happy to introduce the newest member of our team and coach for the 2020 Race season. We have recruited Andrea Bartels to help us reach our goals and help us improve skills. Our coach is a mentor and leader when it comes to good stewardship on the bicycle… whether in a race or out on the road as a club.
Andrea Bartels (formerly Krushefski) is a Cat 3 racer & coach who recently relocated to Arkansas from Colorado by way of Michigan. Andrea has raced in criteriums, time trials, and road races in CO, IL, MI, WA, AR, OK, and OH – to name a few. Her favorite aspect of racing is working with teammates to execute tactics and strategies. She has raced for the team formerly known as Thump Cycling in Denver and University of Michigan Cycling. Prior to road racing, Andrea raced triathlon for Northwestern Triathlon and Rocky Mountain Triathlon Club. She is most proud of helping many beginners with the University of Michigan make their way to category upgrades and even racing National Championships. Her favorite result from 2019 was a 15th-place finish in SW3/4/5 at Gateway Cup in St. Louis where she managed to launch one crazy attack to assert her position and secure a solid finish! She’s very passionate about getting more cyclists to race smart with great tactics and is excited to help Fayetteville Wheelmen develop a few more fabulous bike racers.
